The Junkyard Dogfish is a bulldogfish from the Freddi Fish series who guards the junkyard.
Appearance[]
The Junkyard Dogfish has a face not unlike an American Bulldog with large eyebrows, red eyes, black nose and three canines sticking out from the lower jaw. His body has orange scales with yellow fins and tail and he wears a red spiked collar around his neck.
Personality[]
The Junkyard Dogfish is initially aggressive and intimidating, growling at other fish. However, he is easily pacified when given a bone to satisfy his hunger. His aggressiveness might be due to the fact that he has nobody to look after him. Judging by his collar, it's possible that he was abandoned by his former owner.
Freddi Fish and the Case of the Missing Kelp Seeds[]
In all games, the junkyard dogfish is a grumpy dog who keeps guard over the junkyard. He is shown sleeping initially, until he is accidentally awakened by Luther who has hit some garbage bins, preventing him and Freddi from progressing further for a message bottle and/or a clock. Freddi can give a bone to the dogfish in order to get it to leave. This will allow the duo to progress further.
The junkyard dogfish appears in all versions of the game but taking the bone from the Old Whale Bones and giving it to him is only necessary if Freddi and Luther need to get a bottle from the Junkyard and/or King Crab.
Freddi Fish 2: The Case of the Haunted Schoolhouse[]
In this game, the Junkyard Dogfish can be shown by clicking the pencil in Mrs. Croaker's classroom and drawing him with it on the paper (one of the some mini-scenes). After about 5 seconds the pencil will erase the entire paper and get back on the desk.
Freddi Fish and Luther's Maze Madness[]
In this arcade game, the Junkyard Dogfish is one of the recurring enemies. It is the toughest fish to get away from. If Freddi Fish hits it, she has to swim away giving up a peanut butter and jellyfish sandwich (depleted from all the sandwiches) and go on looking for Grandma Grouper's kelp seeds again.
Trivia[]
- If the player offers the dogfish a purple sea urchin or the peanut butter and jellyfish sandwich, Freddi will mention that dogfish don't eat either of those foods.
- Despite this, the junkyard dogfish species reappears in Freddi Fish and Luther's Maze Madness as an enemy. In this game, the junkyard dogfish will eat Peanut Butter and Jellyfish sandwiches upon collision with Freddi.
- If the player tries to use the fishing pole on the dogfish, it won't work, but Freddi will say that there's more than one way to catch a dogfish.
- If the player tries to use the wooden board from below the docks near the beach, Freddi will say that the dogfish doesn't want to play and wants to eat.
