Maze Madness has various different types of enemies. If Freddi Fish swims into an enemy, she will lose one peanut-butter-and-jellyfish sandwich, and returns to the entrance of the room.
Enemies can be temporarily immobilized if Freddi swims over them while in an invulnerabubble, or if they are hit wheshedh pushes a boulder.
Anglerfish[]

The Anglerfish only moves in a horizontal line. It will continue in one direction until it reaches a wall, at which point it will begin his journey back. If Freddi gets too close to it, the angler will turn towards her and growl as it begins the chase. It first appeared in Level 5.
Its speed is moderate, being slightly less than Freddi's.
The anglerfish growls loudly as it eats a peanut-butter-and-jellyfish sandwich in five bites, with no break between bites.
Pufferfish[]

Pufferfish aren't similar to the Anglerfish: they wander in a seemingly random direction through the mazes. If one spots Freddi, it will inflate and begin to pursue her. Alone, these foes are easily avoided; in a group they can be quite dangerous. It first appeared in Level 8.
Its speed is slower than the Anglerfish overall. This makes the puffer the slowest of the enemies.
The pufferfish absorbs the peanut-butter-and-jellyfish sandwich and swallows it whole.
Crab[]

The Crab is similar to the pufferfish, in that it can move in every direction. Unlike the puffer however, its movement is greatly increased when it moves horizontally. In contrast, the crab's vertical movement is reduced to lower than that of the pufferfish. If Freddi gets too close to one, it will snap its claws and start chasing her. It first appeared in Level 16.
The crab picks up the sandwich and swallows it whole.
Shark[]

The Shark has the same movement as the pufferfish but is noticeably faster. It first appeared in Level 21.
Its speed is slightly faster than Freddi. If one spots her, it will begin to continuously laugh and start chasing her.
The shark finishes the peanut-butter-and-jellyfish sandwich in three bites.
Squid[]

The Squid is the counterpart of the crab: it moves faster vertically than horizontally. If it spots Freddi, it will make a weird noise and start chasing her. It first appeared in Level 31.
The squid swallows the peanut-butter-and-jellyfish sandwich whole.
Junkyard Dogfish[]

The Junkyard Dogfish has the same movement as the shark: it moves faster than Freddi in all four directions. Unlike the shark however, it is capable of sensing Freddi from long distances, its movements are smarter and harder to avoid. If it spots Freddi, it will bark and start chasing her. It first appeared in Level 41.
The junkyard dogfish absorbs the peanut-butter-and-jellyfish sandwich whole into its mouth but chews it before swallowing it.
Little Green Worm[]

A Little Green Worm, although listed as an enemy, is "more of a treat than a hazard," according to the Maze Madness help screen. The worm moves slower than the pufferfish and will try to flee if Freddi gets too close. Freddi gains 10 points for every worm she eats.
