Tobias T. Train (also known as Toby) is a North American steam locomotive, being a tank engine, that Putt-Putt meets in the Old West version of Cartown.

Appearance[]

Toby is a North American 4-2-0 steam locomotive, being a tank engine, with a red cab, gray funnel, red cowcatcher, red wheels, and red fittings. He also wears a blue engineer's cap. His train consists of a brown flatcar and a red caboose.

History[]

Putt-Putt first meets Toby at the Train Station. Toby asks Putt-Putt if he would like to be his official Junior Conductor, and he agrees. After giving him oil and either water or firewood, he can take Putt-Putt to different places in the Old West.

He pays Putt-Putt in nickels/pennies for his oil services. If Putt-Putt needs multiple nickels/pennies, Putt-Putt can use the oil can on Toby multiple times.

Trivia[]

  • Tobias T. Train's short name, Toby, is a clear reference to Toby the Tram Engine from Thomas & Friends.
  • He resembles a saddle tank engine.
  • In the Water storyline, he says, "...and for the life of me I...", but in the Firewood storyline, he doesn't say it.
  • When an extra problem happens in the Water storyline, he says, "...can't reach that spigot way up (there) on that water tower.", but in the Firewood storyline, he says, "Can't find a stick of it anywhere.".
  • Before Toby has water, he says, "I thought you'd be the kind of cowpoke who'd be handy with a rope trick." after Putt-Putt says, "Toby, I found a rope, and I think it's just the thing to do the trick!".
  • Before Toby has firewood, he says, "Thanks, amigo!" after Putt-Putt says, "Toby, here's the firewood!".
  • After Toby has water, he says, "Ahhhhh...".
  • After Toby has firewood, Putt-Putt jumps off of his flat car and says, "Yessiree bob! That feels fine...".
  • After Toby has water or firewood, he does his train moves forward or backward.
