Dr. Morrie Arty is an evil genius who runs an apothecary shop. At a certain point, he was also the leader of the villain organization S.M.E.L.L.I.E. (which at that time meant Self-Managing Elegant Little League of International Evildoers). He doesn't appear in any SPY Fox games, but he makes an appearance in the Villains Dossier game promo materials from the SPY Fox website.
History[]
When he was a kid, he was apparently not a very bright pupil, and was laughed at because he didn't even understand the Metric System. As an adult, he managed to make himself a genius with the use of the Frontal Lobe Tonic, a secret elixir of his invention which includes plants, chemicals, and candy, and which makes his brain grow in size. Together with his assistant Dr. Fu Manch Hugh, he hatched a plan to replace the Metric System and English Measuring Units with his own measuring system, M.A.S.S. (Morrie Arty Sized System). He would then be considered the smartest person in the world because he would be the only one who understands it.
He sent his goons to destroy all the world's ruler and measuring factories, but his plan was foiled by the SPY Corps agents who used a gadget called WYSINWYG (What you see is not what you get), invented by Professor Quack's grandmother Prof. Norma Quack, to project images of measuring factories in front of Limburger Cheese factories. In this way, they killed two birds with one stone: the measuring factories were safe, and the world got rid of Limburger Cheese. The SPY Corps also replaced Dr. Arty's Tonic with Prof. Norma Quack’s Hairraiser, and instead of getting smarter, he grew a massive ponytail. Nonetheless, Morrie Arty managed to escape to the East with Fu Manch Hugh, who later betrayed him and sent him to a retirement home, overtaking his place as the head of S.M.E.L.L.Y. (which now meant Slightly Maniacal Evildoers and their Legion of Local Yokels).
Trivia[]
- His name is an obvious reference to Professor Moriarty, the archnemesis of Sherlock Holmes.
- His theme tune is "Oh When the Saint Morries Come Blasting In", which is a reference to the black spiritual "When the Saints Go Marching In".
