The Butterfly is an insect in the Putt-Putt series. Pep always tries to catch it.
Putt-Putt Goes to the Moon[]
The butterfly is first shown at the beginning of the game. While Putt-Putt is at the fireworks factory, part of the window must be opened in order to continue the story. The butterfly will come in and land on the lever once the window is opened. Pep will then try to catch it only to land on the lever and accidentally pull it, activating Mr. Firebird's secret experiment and causing it to send Putt-Putt and Pep into outer space.
Putt-Putt Saves the Zoo[]
At the beginning of the game, Pep tries to catch the butterfly again, but he once again fails to do so. Pep gives up when Putt-Putt calls out to him.
